Blue Ridge Behavioral Health is actively seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our team in a full-time remote capacity. Our LMHCs play a crucial role in delivering high-quality mental health care to individuals in need, helping them navigate emotional wellness, recovery from substance use disorders, and challenges related to developmental disabilities and acquired brain injuries.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide ongoing consultations to ensure effective pre-crisis and crisis interventions.
• Document all client interactions and treatment progress in compliance with regulatory standards, ensuring all records are maintained in a timely manner.
• Utilize evidence-based screening tools as indicated by the clinical team to accurately assess client needs and progress.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and execute positive behavior support plans tailored to individual client needs.
• Actively engage in licensing and accreditation processes, ensuring our organization maintains high standards of care.
• Establish connections with various service systems, state agencies, and community partners to enhance resource availability for clients.
• Foster open lines of communication with community members and stakeholders to uphold contract standards and support agency goals.
• Engage with local, state, federal, and private organizations to advocate for our clients, promote our programs, and secure potential partnerships.
• Pursue professional development opportunities by attending conferences and workshops, actively participating in state meetings, and representing Blue Ridge Behavioral Health in various forums.
• Exemplify and promote the mission, values, and ethical principles of our agency in every aspect of your work.
• Carry out additional tasks as assigned by the Clinic Director to support departmental objectives.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a diverse array of clients, including individuals facing emotional challenges, those seeking recovery from substance use, and clients with developmental disabilities or brain injuries. Your ability to empathize and connect with clients from various backgrounds is vital in helping them achieve their goals.

Qualifications

• A Master’s Degree in a behavioral health field is required.
• An independent LMHC license from the state board is essential.
• Proficiency in maintaining clinical records and preparing comprehensive reports.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary team framework.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear expression of ideas.
• Strong judgment and decision-making ability based on professional knowledge.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in telehealth or remote counseling is preferred.
• Experience working with the specific patient population mentioned above, particularly in crisis intervention and substance use recovery.
• Familiarity with evidence-based treatment methodologies and tools.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from $86,000 to $103,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Blue Ridge Behavioral Health also offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:
