William C Smith & Co, Washington DC, DC, US 4 days ago Requisition ID: 1063 Salary Range: $60,000.00 To $70,000.00 Annually WC Smith is seeking an experienced Field Support Engineer to provide hands‑on technical support across our corporate office and company locations throughout the DC area. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, working directly with end users, and providing technical support in both office and field environments. The Field Support Engineer will provide desktop support, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, support Microsoft 365 applications, and assist with the day‑to‑day technology needs of employees across the organization. Approximately 50% of this role requires local travel between WC Smith locations throughout the DMV area, so candidates must be comfortable regularly traveling to different company sites. The Field Support Engineer Will: Provide onsite and remote desktop support to employees across multiple company locations. Troubleshoot and resolve desktop, laptop, hardware, software, connectivity, and peripheral issues. Provide end‑user support for Microsoft 365 applications and related technology. Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot computers, monitors, printers, and other end‑user equipment. Diagnose technical issues and determine appropriate solutions or escalation when necessary. Assist with new employee technology setup, equipment deployment, and ongoing user support. Respond to IT support requests in a timely manner and communicate clearly with users throughout the resolution process. Travel regularly between company locations throughout the DMV area to provide hands‑on technical support. Maintain accurate documentation of technical issues, resolutions, equipment, and support activities. Assist with phone system support and administration as needed. Collaborate with the IT team on technology deployments, upgrades, projects, and other initiatives. 3–5 years of professional IT support experience required. Strong hands‑on desktop support and troubleshooting experience required. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and supporting end‑user applications. Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, peripherals, and general technical troubleshooting. Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues independently while recognizing when escalation is necessary. Strong customer service, communication, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to manage multiple support requests and prioritize issues effectively. Ability and willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time between company locations throughout the DC metropolitan area. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required. Experience with business phone system support and administration is preferred.
