Key Responsibilities

• Direct physical therapy treatment initiatives aimed at preventing disabilities, alleviating pain, and promoting physical rehabilitation in line with established care plans.
• Assess and document the client's progress by performing evaluations and applying diagnostic tests related to muscle, nerve, joint, and function.
• Collaborate with Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) to ensure that prescribed therapy plans are executed accurately and efficiently.
• Administer manual therapeutic exercises, provide guidance, and instill motivation to clients throughout their rehabilitation journey.
• Utilize various methodologies including traction and massage therapy, along with physical agents to enhance treatment efficacy.
• Conduct thorough evaluations of clients' home environments to make bespoke recommendations aimed at increasing independence and functional capability.
• Maintain meticulous clinical records, including initial evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, adhering to OASIS documentation standards.
• Engage in multidisciplinary case conferences, contributing insights and strategizing treatment plans for complex cases.
• Instruct clients and their families on the effective use of physical therapy devices, ensuring they are fully empowered to participate in their healing process.
• Stay accessible to PTAs during client sessions for guidance and address any issues that may arise during therapy.
• Collaborate on the assessment and modification of care plans as necessary, ensuring ongoing alignment with client needs.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The patients you will serve come from diverse backgrounds and range in age from pediatric to geriatric. Many individuals experience orthopedic issues such as post-surgical rehabilitation, sports injuries, or chronic pain conditions. Your expertise will play a critical role in enhancing their functional abilities and promoting a swift return to daily activities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited physical therapy program.
• A valid and current Physical Therapy license in the state of New Jersey, maintaining good standing.
• A minimum of one year of clinical experience in physical therapy is required, preferably in an acute care or home care setting.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance.
• Demonstrated commitment to professional growth and clinical excellence.
• Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to make sound clinical decisions.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in a rehabilitation or outpatient orthopedic setting is preferred.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this full-time position ranges from USD 100,000 to 120,000 annually , reflecting experience and qualifications.
