Key Responsibilities\n

• Provide immediate, short-term crisis counseling to non-violent clients experiencing mental health episodes, ensuring a compassionate and trauma-informed approach.

• Engage directly with law enforcement during pertinent responses, offering your expertise to help resolve crises while promoting de-escalation techniques.
\n
• Collaborate with police staff to develop and deliver training aimed at improving responses to mental health situations, enabling law enforcement to manage incidents with greater efficacy.
\n
• Conduct thorough case management by liaising with third-party entities such as the Department of Mental Health and local psychiatric facilities, ensuring that follow-up care is consistently monitored.
\n
• Maintain detailed and confidential records of patient interactions, treatments, and progress in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring the integrity of sensitive information.
\n
• Communicate proactively with law enforcement agencies, psychiatric staff, and healthcare professionals to coordinate care and support for clients requiring immediate assistance.
\n
• Help police officers facilitate psychiatric evaluations in the field, determining eligibility for 5150/5585 applications to support involuntary detention when necessary for client safety.
\n

You will work with a diverse patient population that includes arrestees, individuals facing mental health crises, and community members seeking support. This role requires an understanding of the unique challenges faced by those in vulnerable situations, as well as an ability to provide empathetic and effective counseling tailored to their specific circumstances.

Qualifications\n

• A valid and current Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) license is required.

• A Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related field is necessary; advanced degrees are preferred.

• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is essential.

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to demonstrate a superior work ethic, integrity, and interpersonal relationship skills.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with various stakeholders.

• Proven professionalism and the ability to maintain composure in high-stress or sensitive situations while showing a positive demeanor toward clients and colleagues.

• Ability to manage competing priorities effectively and multitask within a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience\n
