About This Role The Staff Nurse in the NICU at Mount Sinai West is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to neonatal patients, ensuring their health needs are met through assessment, planning, and intervention. Highlights Pay: $64.2353/hour Location: New York, NY Facility: Mount Sinai West Department/Unit: Nursing Neonatal Intensive Care Unit - WST Schedule: Full-Time, Night shift What You'll Do Conduct nursing assessments based on interview, examination, observation, and review of patient records. Ensure patient progress is reflected in progress notes and revised care plans. Develop discharge planning consistent with the patient’s status. Communicate information to patients based on their level of awareness and readiness to learn. Support orientation of new staff members by providing feedback and acting as a preceptor. Function as a professional role model and mentor for students and volunteers. Organize provision of care to meet priority needs of patients and unit. Communicate condition of patients requiring additional intervention to leadership. Participate in the development of other staff members. Reflect collaborative efforts in meeting patient and unit needs through communication. Requirements Education Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) RN who is matriculated in a BSN Program with a graduation date within the year Experience 1 year of Level III NICU RN experience required Licenses & Certifications Current New York RN License and Registration BLS from the American Heart Association required Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certificate (NRP) required About Mount Sinai Mount Sinai Health System is a leading healthcare provider committed to delivering exceptional patient care.
