Key Responsibilities\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, you will engage in the following essential responsibilities:

• Participate in community engagement activities aimed at promoting holistic wellness among birthing individuals and families.
\n
• Collaborate within clinical consultation and multidisciplinary co-learning spaces, enhancing collective knowledge and care approaches.
\n
• Maintain comprehensive clinical documentation, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and organizational standards.
\n
• Provide direct services including behavioral health assessments, counseling, and case management for Black birthing families, tailored to their specific cultural and emotional needs.
\n
• Consult with prenatal care team members, including medical providers, midwives, and lactation consultants, to ensure integrated and quality care.
\n
• Co-facilitate childbirth education and postpartum peer support groups, creating a safe space for discussion and support in partnership with birth workers.
\n
• Complete other related duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the program and the wellbeing of our clients.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our counseling services are specifically designed to support Black birthing families, acknowledging the unique challenges and experiences they face. You will play a critical role in delivering culturally competent care that empowers clients and helps them achieve their full potential during their perinatal journey. Your skills in building rapport and trust with this population will be essential in promoting mental health awareness and reducing stigma.

Qualifications\n

The ideal candidate will meet the following qualifications:

• A master’s degree in behavioral sciences or a related field from an accredited institution.
\n
• Hold a valid license in one of the following: Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC).

• Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse range of clients and multidisciplinary staff.

• Strong organizational abilities, with a focus on effective and efficient work practices.

Preferred Experience\n

While not mandatory, candidates who possess prior experience in community health settings, particularly in prenatal or maternal mental health, will be favored. Experience working with diverse populations and familiarity with integrated care models will also enhance a candidate's fit for this role.

Compensation and Benefits\n
