As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, occupational therapists, and nursing staff, to provide comprehensive rehabilitation services. Key Responsibilities

• Direct the physical therapy treatment plans focusing on the prevention of disability, pain relief, and restoration of muscle function, tailored to each patient's specific orthopedic condition.
• Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants in implementing treatment plans, ensuring fidelity to prescribed care protocols.
• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients' functional levels using diagnostic tests, focusing on muscle strength, joint mobility, and functional abilities.
• Assess home environments for rehabilitation suitability, providing recommendations to enhance patient independence during recovery.
• administer manual and therapeutic exercises, alongside non-manual exercises, assisting patients in achieving their rehabilitation goals.
• Apply specialized treatments involving physical agents such as traction and massage as part of corrective therapy protocols.
• Evaluate, fit, and make recommendations regarding prosthetic and orthotic devices, liaising with relevant healthcare providers.
• Document and maintain accurate clinical records including evaluations, care plans, and progress notes for each patient.
• Participate actively in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss and review patient care plans, ensuring collaborative treatment strategies.
• Educate patients and their families on therapy programs, assisting them in understanding the use and care of therapy devices.
• Complete all required documentation and reports on time, maintaining compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This position primarily focuses on patients with orthopedic conditions, ranging from post-surgical recovery to chronic musculoskeletal issues. The therapist will employ tailored strategies to address the unique needs of each patient, fostering a holistic approach that emphasizes patient autonomy and active participation in the rehabilitation process.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.
• Active and unencumbered physical therapy licensure in the state of Virginia.
• Current CPR certification.
• A valid driver's license and automobile insurance.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong ability to engage with patients and their families effectively.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits

This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from $100,000 to $120,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
