Work Environment

The Physician Assistant will work onsite in a fast-paced hospital environment, immersing within a collaborative healthcare team consisting of five physicians and five nurse practitioners. Our facility is designed for efficiency, boasting state-of-the-art medical technologies and an emphasis on patient-centered care. Operating Monday through Friday, the role entails a structured work schedule primarily occurring between standard office hours, allowing for a healthy work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical examinations and review patients' medical histories to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as blood work and imaging studies to support accurate diagnoses.
• Diagnose acute and chronic health conditions and propose effective treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
• Prescribe appropriate medications following evaluation and treatment protocols.
• Maintain meticulous electronic medical records to provide thorough documentation of patient interactions and treatment plans.
• Communicate openly with patients about their health conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures to foster understanding and compliance.
• Educate patients and their families on disease prevention strategies, lifestyle modifications, and overall wellness practices.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and clinical research to stay informed about the latest advancements in primary care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Primary Care Physician Assistant, you will work with a diverse patient population spanning various demographics and health backgrounds. Your expertise will cater to individuals seeking preventive care, management of chronic illnesses, and treatment for acute health concerns. This role is pivotal in addressing both physical and mental health needs, thus contributing significantly to the overall health of the community.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of experience as a Physician Assistant, with a strong emphasis on primary care practices.
• Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant studies from an accredited program; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• Current certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) and a valid New York State Physician Assistant license.
• DEA registration is required.
• Excellent communication skills and a commitment to patient-centered care.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in acute care settings, internal medicine, family health, or urgent care.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems for efficient patient documentation and management.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary range of USD 140,000 to 180,000 annually, commensurate with experience. In addition to salary, Dignity Medical Center provides an extensive benefits package, including:
