The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality medical consultation, performing therapeutic procedures as delegated by supervising physicians, and ensuring coordinated patient care using a multidisciplinary approach.

Work Environment

This position is onsite at our Surgical Center, equipped with cutting-edge technology that allows for advanced medical procedures and high-quality patient care. As a Physician Assistant, you will work collaboratively with a team of experienced healthcare professionals, including surgeons, nurses, and administrative staff, to ensure the highest standards of patient safety and care. The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life dynamic.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical examinations to assess patient health and review comprehensive medical histories.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including but not limited to blood tests and imaging studies, to provide an accurate diagnosis.
• Diagnose and manage a range of health conditions and illnesses, implementing treatment plans that prioritize patient comfort and effectiveness.
• Develop and customize treatment plans for patients suffering from chronic and infectious diseases, incorporating patient preferences and lifestyle considerations.
• Prescribe necessary medications, monitor their efficacy, and adjust plans as required while maintaining clear communication with patients about their treatment.
• Document and maintain precise and organized patient records and schedules in compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
• Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment options, disease prevention, and lifestyle modifications to promote better health outcomes.
• Oversee the overall management of patient health, performing daily rounds and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure continuity and quality of care.
• Foster a proactive approach to preventive healthcare by promoting wellness and healthy lifestyle practices among patients.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and research to stay current with advancements in primary care and family medicine.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Physician Assistant at our Surgical Center, you will primarily serve a diverse patient population, ranging from pediatric to geriatric patients, addressing both acute and chronic healthcare needs. Your role involves understanding and responding to the unique challenges of each demographic, ensuring that every patient receives effective, compassionate care tailored to their circumstances.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited institution.
• Current certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Active state licensure as a Physician Assistant in New York.
• Minimum of two years of relevant experience in a family health clinic or equivalent healthcare setting with a focus on family medicine.
• Demonstrated expertise in clinical assessment, diagnosis, and patient management.
• Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, treatment protocols, and ethical considerations in medical practice.
• Exceptional communication skills essential for interacting with patients and collaborating within a multidisciplinary team.
• A commitment to patient-centered care and ethical practice.

Preferred Experience

• Hands-on experience in a surgical or outpatient setting, contributing to a team-based approach to patient care.
• Specialization in family medicine or a related field.
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) management and healthcare documentation.
• Possession of a current DEA registration number is required for prescribing medications.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a highly competitive salary range of $150,000 to $180,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
