Work Environment

This role is situated onsite in a hospital setting, providing a blend of inpatient and outpatient care. You will navigate through a cohesive healthcare team and interact with various specialists to ensure patient-centered treatment approaches. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, fostering a balanced work-life dynamic while still meeting the needs of our patient population.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients suffering from chronic pain conditions using advanced diagnostic methodologies.
• Develop and manage individualized treatment plans that integrate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic intervention strategies.
• Collaborate effectively with case management teams to facilitate smooth discharge planning and follow-up care for hospitalized patients.
• Serve as a consulting provider, accepting referrals from other medical professionals and acting in the best interest of patient care protocols.
• Maintain meticulous documentation that adheres to insurance guidelines, addressing claim denials promptly to secure necessary patient services.
• Participate in on-call rotations as needed to provide continuity of care, including consultations for acute pain management cases.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your focus will include a diverse range of patients dealing with various pain syndromes, including post-surgical pain, fibromyalgia, and neuropathic pain. You will utilize your clinical judgment to address both physical and psychosocial aspects of pain management, thus playing a critical role in enhancing recovery and quality of life for these individuals.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited institution.
• Current, active Physician Assistant license in the state of New York.
• A minimum of three years of clinical experience, preferably in a pain management or related setting.
• Exceptional communication and organizational abilities, capable of managing multiple patient caseloads efficiently.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary that ranges from $150,000 to $180,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
