Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct initial assessments and interviews with clients to collect comprehensive information from the onset of treatment.

• Evaluate clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health status through standardized assessments and compassionate questioning.

• Develop detailed treatment and recovery plans that are specifically tailored for individuals, couples, families, and group settings.

• Facilitate engaging and transformative individual and group therapy sessions, creating a safe space for clients to express themselves and work towards recovery.

• Monitor and record client progress regularly, adapting intervention strategies according to their evolving needs.

• Collaborate effectively with colleagues, including other mental health specialists, doctors, and social workers, to drive integrated care strategies.

• Perform follow-ups with psychiatrists for clients who need continued psychiatric support or have been hospitalized.

Qualifications\n

• Possession of a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or Marriage and Family Therapy from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New York State.

• A strong performance on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Previous experience in a mental health counseling role, demonstrating proficiency in therapeutic techniques.

• Familiarity with electronic health records systems, specifically AVATAR, to ensure efficient and accurate client documentation.

• A solid understanding of co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, and the ability to address these in therapy.
\n
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, complemented by strong interpersonal abilities.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience working with families and caregivers to manage specific mental health challenges.

• Knowledge of American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) standards and best practices in mental health counseling.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The salary for this position ranges from $80,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience, and includes a sign-on bonus.
