Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments and diagnoses of acute and chronic medical conditions affecting students, from illnesses to injuries.
• Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans in partnership with students, parents, and school health personnel.
• Order and critically interpret diagnostic tests, including lab work and imaging, to inform your clinical decision-making.
• Prescribe necessary medications and therapies, ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations and best practices.
• Deliver educational resources and support to students and families on topics such as nutrition, mental health, and chronic disease management.
• Engage in interdisciplinary case discussions with school staff and healthcare providers to optimize student health outcomes.
• Document all patient interactions and care plans accurately in electronic medical records to ensure continuity of care.
• Participate actively in school health initiatives and community outreach programs to promote health education and wellness.
• Stay informed on the latest advancements in pediatric nursing and school health policies.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on pediatric and adolescent patients within the school system, addressing a wide range of health issues, including acute illnesses, chronic conditions such as asthma and diabetes, and mental health challenges. Qualifications

• A current certification as a Nurse Practitioner is required.
• Active nursing license in the state of New Jersey.
