Human Resources Generalist

Job Summary The Human Resource Generalist will partner with business management to administer daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) function including talent acquisition, policy administration, compensation review, employee relations, and event planning. Compensation Wage: $26.44 per hour Duties and Responsibilities Conducts talent acquisition activities for the Center including working with hiring managers to define roles and competencies, developing behavioral-based interview guides, obtaining market data, executing hiring plans, mining resumes, posting and screening internal/external candidates, managing external recruiters, and presenting qualified candidates to hiring managers. This includes developing and tendering offers in collaboration with the hiring manager and compensation department. Provides feedback to internal job candidates who are not selected, offering counseling and suggestions for further career growth. Assists the HR Director in developing competency models, career development plans, and career enhancement opportunities for employees. Acts as the primary point of contact for employee relations issues, listening and providing counsel, collaborating with management to develop performance development plans, and assisting in corrective action preparation for employees violating company policy. Provides counsel to managers regarding employee terminations and mediates disputes between employees and supervisors/managers. Collaborates with internal departments (Employee Relations, Legal, Compensation/Benefits) to provide input and communicate company policies and procedures. Keeps abreast of local, state, and federal employment regulations to ensure compliance. Responds to employee complaints, conducts investigations, prepares documentation, and partners with the Director of HR and Legal Department to determine action. Liaises with vendors to ensure timely and accurate handling of workers’ compensation and unemployment claims. Maintains department reports as required. Manages and executes company-sponsored events within budgetary guidelines. Assists the Director of HR with special projects. Requirements Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and consultative communication skills. Highest level of integrity and ability to protect the company. Ability to travel occasionally as needed. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations. Intermediate skill in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with HR technology including ATS and HCM systems. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required. At least three years of HR experience preferred. SHRM-CP or PHR strongly preferred.
