Accounts Payable & Accounting Specialist

Premier Select Cooperative is seeking an Accounts Payable & Accounting Specialist for our Tunkhannock Office, reporting to Ryan Visneski, Chief Financial Officer. This position will play an important role in Premier Select’s accounting operations, with primary responsibility for supporting the accounts payable function along with broader accounting, customer service, and business support responsibilities. We are looking for someone who combines accounting aptitude, attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a willingness to learn and improve processes . Premier Select is actively modernizing and automating its accounting processes, and this position will have the opportunity to participate in those improvements while helping maintain accurate, efficient, and well-controlled accounting operations. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with occasional overtime as required to meet business needs. • Accounts payable processing and administration
• Review and processing of vendor invoices, including appropriate coding, documentation, and approvals
• Purchase order and invoice matching, including researching and resolving discrepancies
• Vendor account maintenance, communication, and issue resolution
• Payment processing and related reconciliations
• Accounting and month-end support
• Maintenance of accurate accounting records and supporting documentation
• Assist with the implementation and continuous improvement of accounting and accounts payable processes
• Work with technology, automation, and AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency and accuracy
• Customer service and support to internal and external stakeholders
• General office and ad hoc business support

• Accounts payable, bookkeeping, accounting, or related business experience preferred
• Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and accounts payable processes preferred
• Familiarity with purchase orders, invoice matching, and vendor account reconciliation preferred
• Experience with accounting software and/or ERP systems is a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace, with the ability to work effectively with spreadsheets
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, time management, and consistent follow-through
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to research and resolve discrepancies
• Strong written and oral communication skills, including professional phone etiquette
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly to changing business needs
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and collaborate as part of a cross-functional team
• Ability and willingness to learn new systems, technology, and business processes
• Experience or interest in process improvement, automation, and artificial intelligence tools is a plus
