Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations through preliminary interviews to assess clients' needs and document their mental, behavioral, and emotional health.

• Develop and implement tailored intervention and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups, adhering to best practices and standards as set forth by the American Mental Health Counselors Association.

• Facilitate engaging and therapeutic individual and group therapy sessions that address specific challenges and personal goals.

• Monitor client progress regularly, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.

• Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, medical doctors, nurses, and social workers, to create cohesive intervention strategies.

• Manage referrals to specialized services when needed, maintaining continuity of care for our clients.

• Identify potential barriers to recovery and proactively mitigate behaviors that might impede clients' progress.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our client focus primarily revolves around individuals coping with various mental health disorders, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction. Clients may range from adolescents to adults, each bringing unique challenges that require compassionate and personalized intervention. You will be equipped to understand the socio-cultural dynamics that influence mental health, thus tailoring your approach to meet the diverse needs of our clientele.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• A valid and current license as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York.
\n
• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Demonstrated experience working as a mental health counselor with a focus on evidence-based practices.
\n
• Proficiency with electronic health records systems, preferably AVATAR, to ensure accurate documentation and client management.

• Solid understanding of the interplay between mental health and physical health conditions, including substance use disorders.
\n
• Exemplary written and verbal communication skills are essential, enabling effective dialogue with clients and colleagues alike.

• Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to establish trust and rapport with clients.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience working in a community health clinic setting is highly desirable.

• Knowledge and application of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) guidelines in practice.

We offer a competitive yearly salary in the range of USD 80,000 to 100,000, complemented by a sign-on bonus.
