Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient histories and perform physical examinations to assess pain management needs.
• Order and execute diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures to ascertain appropriate interventions.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
• Perform specialized procedures such as trigger point injections and joint injections, utilizing ultrasound guidance when necessary.
• Provide patient education and counseling to address pain management strategies and follow-up care.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records (EMR) to ensure continuity of care and compliance.
• Respond to incoming fax requests for medication refills and manage patient inquiries efficiently.
• Participate in monthly reviews of prescription monitoring reports to ensure adherence to best practices in pain management.
• Remain available for after-hours calls and collaborate with colleagues to provide continuity of care during non-clinic hours.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be serving a diverse patient population suffering from various pain-related conditions, ranging from chronic back pain to acute injury-related pain. This role will involve working closely with individuals of different ages and backgrounds, necessitating sensitivity and adaptability to various needs, as well as the ability to provide culturally competent care.

Qualifications

• Board certification as a Family or Adult Nurse Practitioner.
• A Doctorate in Nurse Practitioner Studies is highly preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification is required.
• A current and unrestricted DEA license.
• Strong computer proficiency, particularly with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
• Thorough understanding of OSHA, FDA, and HIPAA regulations to ensure compliance.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to foster strong patient relationships.
• A friendly and caring demeanor that inspires trust and comfort in patients.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of one year of experience in pain management is preferred, though candidates with diverse clinical backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Compensation and Benefits
