Full-Time Nurse Practitioner - Pain Management Specialist

Position Overview

Winter Haven Pain Management Center is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) specializing in pain management to join our team in Baltimore, Maryland. This full-time position requires an individual who is ready to provide exceptional patient care while managing a diverse range of pain management issues. As a key member of our medical team, you will be responsible for assessing patient needs, implementing treatment plans, and maintaining accurate patient records.

Work Environment

This is an onsite position situated within a school facility, designed to serve the needs of our patients in a comfortable and accessible environment. You will be operating in a team-centered culture where collaboration with medical assistants, lab technicians, and physicians is vital. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient evaluations by obtaining histories and performing physical examinations.
• Formulate a diagnostic impression and develop individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments.
• Order and perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, while actively participating in physical therapy when required.
• Administer trigger point injections, joint injections, and occipital nerve blocks, with or without ultrasound guidance.
• Monitor the effectiveness of treatments and modify care plans as necessary to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Provide ongoing education and counseling to patients and families concerning pain management strategies and treatment options.
• Utilize electronic medical records (EMR) to maintain accurate patient documentation, ensuring compliance with OSHA, FDA, and HIPAA regulations.
• Participate in the review of monthly prescription monitoring reports and ensure appropriate management of medications.
• Engage in regular communication with fellow healthcare providers to discuss patient referrals to specialists when necessary.
• Be available for on-call responsibilities during non-clinic hours, rotating monthly with other providers.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a diverse patient population ranging from adolescents to older adults, each experiencing various types of acute and chronic pain conditions. Your empathetic approach will be essential in establishing rapport and trust with patients, enabling them to openly discuss their pain management needs. You will also advocate for patients who may require referrals to additional services, ensuring comprehensive care tailored to each individual.

Qualifications

• Board-certified Nurse Practitioner, specializing in Family or Adult Nursing.
• Doctorate in Nurse Practitioner Studies is preferred.
• Current and unrestricted DEA license and Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification.
• Strong computer skills with proficiency in EMR systems.
• Commitment to following OSHA, FDA, and HIPAA standards for patient care.
• Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• A friendly disposition and caring personality dedicated to improving patient experiences.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of one year of experience in pain management is preferred.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is an asset, enhancing communication with a broader patient base.

Compensation and Benefits
