Work Environment

The Nurse Practitioner will work primarily onsite, engaging directly with patients in their homes, thereby fostering an intimate understanding of their unique situations. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough health assessments by obtaining complete health histories and performing comprehensive physical examinations to evaluate patients' conditions more effectively.
• Develop, implement, and manage individualized pain management plans, both pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic, to address patients’ specific needs.
• Prescribe medications while ensuring compliance with state regulations and safety guidelines, leveraging the Prescription Monitoring Program to verify the safety of prescribed treatments.
• Engage with patients to educate them on the goals and processes of their pain management therapies, including medication compliance, potential side effects, and treatment expectations.
• Collaborate closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to create and adjust treatment plans that align with evidence-based practices.
• Utilize advanced clinical assessment skills to diagnose complex pain disorders and determine appropriate interventions.
• Perform various procedures such as nerve blocks, spinal injections, and pain pump insertions when clinically indicated, ensuring optimal patient safety and comfort.
• Maintain meticulous records of patient interactions and treatment outcomes, contributing to a systematic approach to quality improvement within the practice.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The ideal candidate will treat a diverse patient population suffering from various pain conditions, including chronic pain syndromes, acute postoperative pain, and pain associated with medical conditions. This role emphasizes understanding patients' individual experiences and belief systems, allowing you to deliver care that is respectful and aligned with their values.

Qualifications

• A Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited institution.
• An active and valid New York State Nurse Practitioner license.
• At least two years of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner with a focus on pain management or a related field.
• Proficiency in assessing and managing a variety of pain disorders, with a strong understanding of diagnostic testing.
• Demonstrated ability to use diagnostic imaging and other modalities to identify pain causes effectively.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to establish trusting relationships with patients and their families.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in concierge medicine or home care settings is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with treatment methodologies and patient care models specific to pain management.
• Hands-on experience in performing advanced pain management procedures.

Compensation and Benefits
