Work Environment The Remote Licensed Mental Health Counselor position offers a unique blend of flexibility and supportive structure. You will work on a full-time basis, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, with some evenings and weekends required on a rotational basis to accommodate client needs. Key Responsibilities Conduct detailed assessments of clients to gauge the severity, frequency, and duration of their mood disorder symptoms, using standardized assessment tools alongside clinical judgment. Collaborate with clients to craft personalized treatment plans that reflect their specific goals, values, and preferences, ensuring a client-centered approach in all cases. Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to facilitate effective treatment and support. Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, the importance of treatment adherence, and self-care strategies to empower them in their mental health journey. Monitor client progress meticulously, adjusting treatment plans as needed and providing feedback on therapeutic interventions' effectiveness. Work collaboratively with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive, integrated care that addresses both psychological and medication needs. Stay informed on the latest research in mood disorders to continually refine your treatment practices and methodologies. Maintain accurate, confidential records of client sessions, assessments, and treatment plans, aligning with legal and ethical standards to protect client privacy. Engage in case consultations, attend team meetings, and participate in professional development workshops to enhance your skills and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement. Advocate for clients, raising awareness about mood disorders and working towards destigmatizing mental health treatment in the community. Patient Population / Client Focus In this role, you will primarily support individuals grappling with mood disorders such as depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. The client population is diverse, reflecting a wide range of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, which allows you to employ culturally competent care practices. Your work will significantly impact clients' quality of life and overall well-being. Qualifications A master's or doctorate degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy from an accredited institution is required. A current and valid license as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in New York State is essential to practice. Strong communication skills and the ability to establish rapport with a diverse client base are critical for success in this role. Preferred Experience At least two years of post-licensure experience working specifically with mood disorders is preferred, as this will enhance your effectiveness in meeting client needs. Compensation and Benefits The salary for the Remote Licensed Mental Health Counselor position ranges from USD 80,000 to 100,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
