Global Life Mental Healthcare is seeking a passionate and flexible Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our dedicated team in providing intensive in-community therapeutic services for children experiencing developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. This full-time remote position is centered around improving the mental well-being and interpersonal skills of children aged 3 to 20, while engaging actively with their families to create a supportive environment for growth and healing.

Work Environment\n

This role is entirely remote, providing you with the flexibility to work from home while serving clients in Gresham, Oregon, and surrounding areas. As a part of our community health clinic, you will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including social workers, psychologists, and behavioral specialists, ensuring a comprehensive approach to care. You will have the autonomy to work on your own schedule within specified timeframes, primarily during after-school hours from 4 PM to 7 PM, with weekend availability being a valuable asset.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individualized in-home therapy sessions as well as facilitated group therapy within our outpatient center, tailoring interventions to meet the unique needs of each child and family.

• Implement strategies focused on anger management, coping mechanisms, and the development of social skills, specifically aimed at reducing high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) and physical aggression.
\n
• Empower youth and caregivers by enhancing their decision-making capabilities to manage in-home behavioral challenges, fostering a nurturing and communicative family environment.
\n
• Engage in consistent collaboration with the Child Family Treatment Team and liaise with other professionals involved in the child’s care, ensuring a holistic treatment approach.
\n
• Accurately document all therapeutic sessions, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, adhering to compliance regulations and submitting all required documentation within designated timelines.
\n
• Participate in monthly team meetings to discuss client progress, contribute insights, and make recommendations for ongoing treatment plans.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on a diverse population of children aged 3 to 20, many of whom face developmental disabilities or intellectual challenges. By employing effective therapeutic techniques and evidence-based practices, you will help these children develop essential life skills, improve self-regulation, and enhance their overall quality of life, all while supporting their families in understanding and navigating their unique challenges.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field is required.

• An active and unrestricted LMFT license is essential for this position.

• You must be available to work a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during key evening hours, with additional weekend flexibility being a plus.

• A valid driver’s license and a registered vehicle are necessary for travel to clients’ homes.
\n
• A successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is required prior to employment.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in providing positive behavior support is preferred, especially in managing complex behavior in children.

• Direct experience working with children with intellectual or developmental disabilities (I/DD) is highly desirable.

• A background in implementing therapeutic techniques or interventions that promote emotional and social growth in youth will be advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary ranging from USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to a comprehensive compensation package, we offer:
