Mental Health Counselors at Brilliant Mind utilize cloud-based electronic health record (EHR) systems to document patient interactions and therapeutic progress, ensuring seamless communication and coordination of care.

Key Responsibilities\n

The day-to-day responsibilities of the Mental Health Counselor will include:

• Conducting initial assessments and ongoing evaluations of clients to determine their mental health status and therapy needs.

• Developing individualized treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based therapeutic approaches, ensuring clients receive appropriate interventions.

• Providing both individual and group therapy sessions, focusing on developing coping skills and strategies for managing a variety of mental health conditions.

• Regularly meeting with clients to monitor progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary, and providing emotional support.

• Facilitating referrals to additional healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, as needed to deliver comprehensive care.

• Documenting all therapy sessions in compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintaining accurate patient records within our EHR systems.

• Participating in regular supervision and consultation meetings to enhance professional development and ensure the highest standard of care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The Mental Health Counselor will engage with a varied patient population, including individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, substance use disorders, trauma, and eating disorders. Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, or LCSW in the state of New York.

• A minimum of two years of clinical experience in a mental health setting.

• Strong understanding of various mental health disorders, therapeutic modalities, and evidence-based treatment practices.

Preferred Experience\n

While a minimum of two years of related experience is required, candidates with experience in group therapy facilitation, trauma-informed care, and experience working with a broad spectrum of mental health issues will be preferred. Familiarity with integrating foundational elements of cultural competence in therapy will be an advantage.

Compensation and Benefits\n
