Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct initial assessments and ongoing evaluations of clients’ mental health conditions to establish treatment goals.

• Design, implement, and monitor therapeutic interventions tailored to individual client needs, including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and mindfulness-based approaches.

• Provide individual counseling sessions to facilitate client coping strategies and personal growth, focusing on a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, substance use disorders, and trauma.
\n
• Facilitate group therapy sessions to encourage peer support and collective healing among clients with similar challenges.
\n
• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for clients, making referrals as needed.
\n
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records (EHR) to document treatment plans, progress notes, and case management efforts.
\n
• Engage in regular supervision and consultation sessions with peers to enhance therapeutic skills and professional development.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with South Eastern Psychotherapy Services, you will work with a diverse client base, including individuals struggling with a variety of mental health issues such as anxiety disorders, depression, PTSD, eating disorders, and substance abuse problems. Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Active and valid license as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of New York.

• Minimum of four years of direct clinical experience in mental health counseling.
\n
• Proven knowledge of mental health disorders, evidence-based treatment modalities, and an understanding of the effectiveness of cultural competencies in therapy.
\n
• Strong crisis intervention skills and the ability to manage high-pressure situations effectively.
\n
• Exceptional communication skills with a track record of building rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.

• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and other technology relevant to client management.
\n
• Commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and upholding ethical standards in practice.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience working in community health settings is preferred, particularly within mental health clinics.

• Experience using telehealth platforms for remote therapy sessions is a plus.
\n
• Demonstrated ability in leading both individual and group therapy approaches with a focus on inclusion and cultural responsiveness.

Compensation and Benefits\n
