Key Responsibilities\n

• Provide individualized in-home therapy sessions as well as group therapy sessions at our outpatient center for children and families.
\n
• Develop and oversee therapeutic strategies focused on anger management, coping mechanisms, and social skills to reduce high-risk behaviors, including self-injurious behavior and aggressive tendencies.

• Support youth and caregivers in improving decision-making skills necessary for effectively managing behavioral challenges in home settings.
\n
• Collaborate with the Child Family Treatment Team and other disciplines, ensuring a holistic approach to addressing the needs of youth and their families.
\n
• Document all required clinical information, including intake forms, treatment plans, and progress notes, within specified timelines.
\n
• Participate in monthly team meetings to discuss insights, recommendations, and collaborative strategies to enhance therapeutic outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will engage primarily with children and adolescents aged 3 to 20, many of whom face developmental and intellectual disabilities. The therapist will work closely with each child to understand their unique challenges, devising strategies to foster better coping skills and improve their overall quality of life. Your contributions will be pivotal in making a positive impact not only on the children but also on their families, guiding them towards healthier interactions and improved functional abilities.

Qualifications\n

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field is required.

• Active and unrestricted LMFT license is essential to perform the duties of the position.

• Availability to work a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours, typically from 4 PM to 7 PM, with some flexibility for weekend sessions.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in providing positive behavior support strategies is highly desirable.

• Direct experience working with children and adolescents, particularly those with intellectual and developmental disabilities, will be considered an asset.

• A valid driver’s license and a reliable registered vehicle are necessary for travel to patients' homes.

• Successful clearance of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is required prior to employment.
