Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough preliminary interviews with clients to gather essential information about their mental, behavioral, and emotional health.

• Document cases meticulously from the initial consultation through to the completion of treatment, ensuring accurate and comprehensive records.

• Evaluate clients' mental health issues by utilizing standardized assessments and clinical judgment, leading to tailored treatment interventions.
\n
• Design and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, taking into consideration their personal goals and therapeutic preferences.
\n
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, adapting methods and techniques to various therapeutic modalities tailored to client needs.
\n
• Regularly monitor clients' progress throughout the duration of therapy to adapt interventions and strategies in response to their evolving needs.
\n
• Work alongside other healthcare professionals to coordinate client care, ensuring a holistic approach to treatment.
\n
• Keep track of client referrals and coordinate follow-ups with other mental health specialists as required.
\n
• Educate family members and primary caregivers on managing mental health challenges and improving family dynamics.
\n
• Identify potential barriers to recovery and develop strategies to mitigate these obstacles, facilitating client resilience and empowerment.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our client base comprises individuals, couples, families, and groups from a variety of backgrounds and age groups, each facing unique mental health challenges. Many clients present concerns related to anxiety, depression, trauma, substance abuse, and relationship issues. As a mental health counselor at our facility, you will work closely with clients from diverse socioeconomic status and cultural backgrounds, ensuring that treatment approaches are culturally sensitive and effective.

Qualifications\n

• Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Maryland.

• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, for efficient case management.
\n
• Strong understanding of the implications of physical and emotional health issues, including concurrent addiction disorders.
\n
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to connect with clients empathetically.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience in a community health setting or similar environment dealing with a diverse client population.

• Familiarity with the best practices outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• In-depth knowledge of psychopharmacology and how it affects client treatment.
\n

Compensation and Benefits\n

The salary range for this position is between $80,000 to $100,000 annually, with additional incentives such as a signing bonus.
