Key Responsibilities\n

As a Mental Health Therapist at Kanza, you will:

• Conduct thorough trauma-informed assessments to evaluate clients’ trauma histories, guiding your treatment planning.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that facilitate trauma recovery, focusing on building resilience and promoting mental well-being.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to support clients in processing their experiences.

• Lead individual and group therapy sessions, offering safe spaces for clients to share and heal while providing resources to develop coping mechanisms.

• Collaborate with psychiatrists and interdisciplinary team members to ensure that patients receive holistic and integrated care tailored to their diverse needs.

• Respond to crisis situations, providing critical support and intervention during trauma-related emergencies.

• Engage in psychoeducation for clients and their families to help them understand trauma responses and available coping strategies.

• Maintain accurate and confidential client records in accordance with legal and ethical standards.

• Participate actively in professional development activities and case consultations, continuously updating your knowledge on trauma-informed care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will primarily work with individuals who are navigating the complexities of trauma and its various effects on mental health. Your clients may include survivors of abuse, combat veterans, accident victims, and individuals grappling with severe anxiety and depression stemming from traumatic experiences. This diverse clinical population requires a therapist who is not only skilled but also empathetic, understanding the unique nuances of each client's journey.

Qualifications\n

The ideal candidate must hold a master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution. Additionally, you will need active licensure in Colorado as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT.

Preferred Experience\n

While a minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience is preferred, significant experience in trauma-focused therapy and familiarity with trauma-informed treatment modalities are highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate an excellent understanding of trauma-related disorders along with strong interpersonal and communication skills, ensuring a compassionate and non-judgmental approach in all client interactions.
