Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive preliminary interviews with clients to gather relevant history and document findings from the initial consultation through to discharge.

• Evaluate clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health to assess their needs and determine the appropriate course of action.
\n
• Develop individualized intervention and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups, tailored to their unique situations.
\n
• Facilitate therapy sessions, ensuring an engaging and therapeutic environment for both individual and group sessions.
\n
• Monitor and document client progress throughout their treatment plans, adjusting strategies as necessary to optimize outcomes.
\n
• Collaborate with other mental health specialists, medical professionals, and social workers to formulate comprehensive intervention strategies.
\n
• Follow up with psychiatrists and attending physicians for clients requiring hospitalization, providing continuity of care.
\n
• Identify potential barriers to recovery and implement prevention strategies to mitigate those challenges.

• Support family members and caregivers in understanding and managing mental health issues, providing them with tools and resources.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will work with a diverse range of clients, each presenting unique mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship difficulties. Our client base comprises individuals from varying backgrounds, including children, adolescents, and adults, creating a rich tapestry of experiences that will broaden your counseling skills. By understanding the complexities of each client’s life and environment, you will engage effectively to foster healing and recovery.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New Jersey.

• A passing score on the National Counseling Exam (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, coupled with the ability to connect empathetically with clients.

Preferred Experience\n

• Proven experience as a mental health counselor, with a focus on evidence-based practices in psychotherapy.

• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, particularly AVATAR, to manage client care efficiently.

• Understanding of various physical and emotional health conditions, including addiction disorders.

• Familiarity with the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices, as well as the effects of medications prescribed by other health professionals.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills to build rapport and trust with clients and their families.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The annual salary for this role ranges from $80,000 to $100,000, commensurate with experience.
