Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to accurately evaluate the emotional and psychological needs of children and adolescents.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that consider each patient's developmental stage, cultural background, and family dynamics.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and play therapy, to effectively address a wide array of mental health concerns.

• Facilitate family therapy sessions to enhance communication and resilience within families, providing support networks for parents and caregivers.

• Collaborate with child psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated, holistic treatment strategies for each patient.

• Provide crisis intervention and support during mental health emergencies, ensuring timely and appropriate responsivity to patients’ needs.

• Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions, treatment options, and available community resources to foster understanding and empowerment.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role primarily focuses on children and adolescents experiencing an array of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavioral disorders. By working closely with young patients and their families, you will actively contribute to their understanding of mental health challenges, fostering environments that encourage healing and growth.

Qualifications\n

• A minimum of a Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• A valid license as a Clinical Social Worker – R Privilege (LCSW-R), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Psychoanalyst, or Psychologist in the state of New York.

• A strong foundation in child and adolescent mental health, including familiarity with evidence-based treatment modalities and therapeutic techniques.
\n
• Proficient interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating a compassionate and child-centered approach in all interactions.
\n
• Ability to build rapport and establish trust with children, adolescents, and their families to foster positive therapeutic relationships.

• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and computer applications to efficiently manage patient documentation.

• Ability to thrive as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to a synergistic approach to patient care.
