Work Environment

This role will be performed onsite at our state-of-the-art Surgical Center, situated in the vibrant community of Jersey City. The work atmosphere is dynamic and forward-thinking, where you will collaborate in an interdisciplinary team setting, contributing to the ongoing evolution of patient care protocols and practicing evidence-based medicine. Our facility operates from Monday to Friday, with a standard schedule of 40 hours per week starting at 5:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities

As an Internal Medicine Physician Assistant, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Conducting comprehensive patient interviews and physical examinations to assess and address health concerns.
• Utilizing advanced medical technology and evidence-based practices to devise personalized treatment plans for our diverse patient population.
• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests to formulate accurate assessments and treatment choices.
• Providing education to patients and their families regarding wellness, preventative measures, and early detection strategies.
• Facilitating referrals to specialists as required based on thorough patient evaluations and clinical needs.
• Documenting medical records meticulously in our electronic medical records (EMR) system to ensure continuity of care and maintain compliance with federal guidelines.
• Participating in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education programs to enhance patient outcomes and personal professional growth.
• Addressing and resolving complaints or inquiries from patients in a timely manner to ensure satisfaction and trust in our services.
• Providing on-call support when necessary, covering night calls as part of your responsibilities to ensure accessibility for urgent patient needs.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily cater to adults experiencing chronic and complex health issues typical to Internal Medicine. Our patient population includes individuals from diverse backgrounds, often presenting with multi-faceted health challenges. Thus, a comprehensive understanding of best practices in chronic disease management and preventive care is essential.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you must have:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
• A current, unrestricted medical license in the state of New Jersey, along with board eligibility or board certification.
• A current DEA license.
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to providing empathetic patient care.

Preferred Experience

While the minimum requirements include a solid academic background, we prefer candidates with:

• Experience in a clinical setting focusing on Internal Medicine or related fields.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records systems.

Compensation and Benefits
