CNC Setup Machinist

An established, high-precision manufacturer in Long Island is seeking a skilled CNC Setup Machinist to join our dynamic production team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, adjusting, and operating complex CNC milling and turning centers to produce intricate, custom plastic components to exact specifications. salary: $62,400 - $72,800 per year

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Machine Setup: Perform complete setup operations on 3-axis CNC milling machines for custom plastic component production.

• Tooling & Fixturing: Set up cutting tools, insert holders, load zero-point workholding/fixturing systems, and establish accurate offsets.

• Program Verification: Read, interpret, and adjust G-code at the controller to ensure proper machine operations and correct cutting paths.

• Quality & First-Piece Inspection: Perform first-piece setup inspections, check production parts to engineering drawings using standard measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.), and maintain tight dimensional tolerances.

The essential functions of this role include:

• manual lifting up to 50lbs
• standing for 8 hours at one time
