Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients' physical abilities and limitations to develop effective treatment plans tailored to each individual.
• Utilize evidence-based practices and state-of-the-art therapeutic techniques to enhance patient recovery.
• Monitor and document patients' progress, making adjustments to treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and set realistic rehabilitation goals.
• Conduct educational sessions for patients and their families about injury prevention and health maintenance.
• Make independent decisions regarding patient care while adhering to regulatory guidelines and organizational policies.
• Establish professional relationships with colleagues and support staff, promoting a cooperative working environment.
• Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of departmental policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily engage with a diverse outpatient population, including adult and geriatric patients who require rehabilitation following surgeries, injuries, or chronic conditions. With a focus on outpatient orthopedics, you will have the unique opportunity to specialize in spine treatments, ensuring that you leverage your experience and skills to facilitate effective recovery paths for individuals facing various musculoskeletal challenges.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program; an MSPT or DPT is preferred (requirement for graduates of 2003 or later).
• Current and valid physical therapy license in the state of Florida, maintained in good standing throughout employment.
• CPR certification must be obtained during orientation, with ongoing maintenance throughout employment.

Preferred Experience

While experience in outpatient orthopedics is required, candidates with a background in spine rehabilitation will be preferred. Proficiency in using EMR systems to document patient interactions and manage treatment plans will be advantageous. Advanced knowledge of therapeutic equipment and modalities is essential for effective patient treatment and care.
