Vera's Family and Children Wellness Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Counselor to provide full-time telehealth services specializing in child and adolescent psychiatry. This remote role is an integral part of our mission to deliver customized mental health care to young individuals and their families. Work Environment\n

This position is entirely remote, allowing you to provide therapy from the comfort of your home while reaching clients across the region via our telehealth platform. Working Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, you will have occasional shifts in the evening to accommodate patient needs. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough and confidential mental health assessments for children and adolescents, identifying their specific emotional and behavioral needs.

• Craft and implement personalized treatment plans that consider developmental stages, family dynamics, and individual preferences.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities to provide direct therapy to young patients, fostering resilience and coping skills.

• Facilitate family therapy sessions to empower parents and caregivers, equipping them with tools to nurture a supportive home environment.

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including child psychiatrists and other mental health professionals, to ensure integrated care for patients.

• Respond to mental health crises, providing immediate support and intervention as situations arise.

• Educate clients and their families about mental health, fostering understanding and recovery through shared knowledge of available resources and treatment options.

• Maintain meticulous and confidential client records in compliance with all legal and ethical guidelines, utilizing our electronic health record (EHR) system effectively.

• Stay abreast of the latest research in child and adolescent mental health, integrating new knowledge into practice to continually enhance patient outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on children and adolescents facing mental health challenges. This role involves working closely with young patients affected by various disorders, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavioral issues. You will utilize your expertise to not only treat these conditions but also foster a supportive and trusting relationship that encourages open communication and healing.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current licensure as an LCSW, LCSW-R, LMHC, or LMFT in New York State is essential.

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience is preferred to ensure effective engagement with clients.

• In-depth knowledge of child and adolescent mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment modalities is necessary.

• Competence in providing individual and family therapy, with a demonstrated ability to build rapport and trust with young clients.

• Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, are critical for this role.

• Proficiency with EHR systems, enhancing your ability to document client interactions efficiently.

• The capability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, ensuring high-quality patient care.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience delivering teletherapy effectively to children and adolescents is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with crisis intervention strategies and familiarity with community mental health resources to better assist clients is advantageous.

• Experience conducting family therapy sessions to engage the family unit in the therapeutic process.

Compensation and Benefits\n

We offer a competitive salary range of USD 115,000 to 130,000 annually, reflective of your experience and expertise. Additionally, successful candidates may benefit from a sign-on bonus. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:
