Customer Care Representative I (Contract) Contract (8 months) Primary duties may include, but are not limited to: Respond to internal and external customer questions via telephone and written correspondence regarding insurance benefits, provider contracts, eligibility, and claims. Analyze problems and provide information/solutions. Operate a PC/image station to obtain and extract information, document information, activities, and changes in the database. Thoroughly document inquiry outcomes for accurate tracking and analysis. Develop and maintain positive customer relations and coordinate with various functions within the company to ensure customer requests and questions are handled appropriately and in a timely manner. Research and analyze data to address operational challenges and customer service issues. Provide external and internal customers with requested information. Under immediate supervision, receive and place follow‑up telephone calls/e‑mails to answer routine customer questions. Use computerized systems for tracking, information gathering, and troubleshooting. Conduct outbound calls in the ZipDrug business area. Multi‑task including handling calls, texts, facsimiles, and electronic queues while simultaneously taking notes and speaking to customers. Additional expectations include proficiency in maintaining focus during extended periods of sitting and handling multiple tasks in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment; strong verbal and written communication skills, both with virtual and in‑person interactions; attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem‑solving; empathy and persistence to resolve caller issues completely; comfort and proficiency with digital tools and platforms to enhance productivity and minimize manual efforts. Structured work schedule with occasional overtime or flexibility based on business needs; ability to work from the office as necessary. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements: Requires a HS diploma or equivalent and previous experience in an automated customer service environment, or any combination of education and experience that would provide an equivalent background. Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; problem‑solving skills; facilitation skills; and analytical skills. Must be able to work any 8‑hour shift within our hours of operation: 5:00 AM – 6:00 PM PT / 6:00 AM – 7:00 PM MST / 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM CST / 8:00 AM – 9:00 PM EST. 100% Virtual. Open Monday through Friday (no weekends). Voluntary OT available. Dental training lasts a total of 4 weeks with an additional week as a “nesting period” for new associates; total 5 weeks of training and nesting. During this period, the schedule will be 6:00 – 2:30 PM PT / 7:00 AM – 3:30 MST / 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM CST / 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM EST. After training, temps move to a more permanent 8‑hour shift based on business need, within our hours of operation, with assignment considered based on attendance, performance, and attitude/engagement displayed through training. Must be located within 50 miles or a 1‑hour max commute to Colorado Springs, CO. Elevance Health operates in a Hybrid Workforce Strategy.
