Specialised Part-Time Consulting Opportunity for Experienced B2B Sales Professionals

We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for experienced B2B sales professionals with strong backgrounds in wholesale, manufacturing, account management, pricing, negotiation, and customer relationship management.

This role focuses on reviewing sales conversations, product recommendations, quotes, and commercial workflows involving non-technical wholesale and manufactured goods. Selected professionals will apply real-world sales expertise to assess customer relevance, negotiation quality, commercial accuracy, and overall sales effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

B2B Sales Evaluation

• Evaluate sales conversations and commercial materials for quality, accuracy, and effectiveness
• Assess whether recommendations appropriately address customer needs and purchasing requirements
• Identify weak positioning, unrealistic assumptions, and ineffective sales approaches
• Review whether sales decisions reflect practical wholesale and manufacturing sales experience
• Apply professional judgement across realistic B2B customer scenarios

Product Recommendation & Customer Needs

• Review product recommendations for relevance and commercial suitability
• Assess whether proposed products align with customer requirements, quantities, and intended use
• Evaluate how effectively product knowledge is applied during the sales process
• Identify inappropriate recommendations or missed cross-selling and upselling opportunities
• Assess the clarity and usefulness of product explanations

Pricing & Quotation Review

• Evaluate quotes, pricing decisions, discounts, and commercial terms
• Review whether pricing approaches are appropriate for the customer and transaction context
• Assess margin, volume, and negotiation considerations where relevant
• Identify inconsistent or commercially unrealistic quotation decisions
• Evaluate how effectively pricing is communicated and justified

Negotiation & Sales Effectiveness

• Review negotiation approaches across realistic B2B sales scenarios
• Assess responses to objections, pricing concerns, and competing customer priorities
• Evaluate whether proposed concessions and next steps are commercially sound
• Identify missed opportunities to advance or close a sale
• Compare alternative approaches based on customer relevance and sales effectiveness

Order Management & Post-Sale Support

• Review scenarios involving order handling, fulfilment coordination, and customer follow-up
• Assess how effectively order changes, availability issues, or customer concerns are managed
• Evaluate post-sale communication and relationship-management approaches
• Identify operational or communication gaps affecting the customer experience
• Review whether proposed actions support long-term account relationships

Comparative Response Review

• Compare alternative sales responses or approaches side by side
• Assess outputs based on customer relevance, negotiation quality, and commercial effectiveness
• Identify meaningful differences between stronger and weaker responses
• Determine which approach is more credible in a real-world B2B sales environment
• Provide clear reasoning supporting evaluation decisions

Structured Evaluation & Feedback

• Review assigned sales work products for accuracy and professional quality
• Identify substantive commercial, negotiation, and customer-management weaknesses
• Distinguish material sales issues from minor stylistic differences
• Provide concise, evidence-based written feedback
• Apply evaluation standards consistently across assignments

Ideal Profile

• 4+ years of relevant professional experience in wholesale sales, manufacturing sales, B2B sales, account management, or a closely related commercial role
• Experience as a Sales Representative, Account Representative, Inside Salesperson, Outside Sales Representative, Sales Consultant, or similar professional
• Demonstrated experience selling non-technical wholesale or manufactured goods to businesses or groups of customers
• Strong product knowledge within a wholesale or manufacturing environment
• Practical experience with pricing, quotations, negotiation, order handling, and post-sale support
• Strong understanding of B2B customer needs and relationship management
• Ability to assess sales effectiveness and commercial judgement across realistic scenarios
• Strong written English communication skills
• Ability to work independently and provide precise professional feedback

Engagement Details

• Part-time independent contractor engagement
• Fully remote
• Availability of 20+ hours per week
• Immediate start
• Initial project duration of approximately 46 weeks
• Compensation: $60$100/hour for hourly project work
• The initial assignment is task-based; contributors who successfully complete and receive approval for their first task may then qualify for hourly work for the remainder of the project
• Work includes evaluation of sales conversations, product recommendations, quotations, negotiation scenarios, order handling, and post-sale support
• Projects may be extended, shortened, or concluded based on project needs and performance
• Work must be completed without using confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer, client, institution, or other third party
• H1-B and STEM OPT support is unavailable for this engagement
