Key Responsibilities\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with our organization, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that directly impact patient care:

• Conduct thorough trauma-informed assessments, evaluating clients' past trauma experiences to inform treatment planning.

• Create tailored treatment strategies that focus on trauma recovery, resilience building, and clients’ individual goals.

• Implement evidence-based therapeutic techniques, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

• Lead individual and group therapy sessions, helping clients process their experiences and develop effective coping mechanisms.

• Collaborate with psychiatrists and other mental health professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to patient care.

• Provide crisis intervention and support during trauma-related emergencies, allowing patients to navigate acute distress effectively.

• Educate clients and their families about trauma responses and equip them with tools to aid in recovery.

• Maintain thorough and accurate documentation in accordance with ethical and legal standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will primarily work with clients who have experienced significant trauma, including but not limited to those suffering from PTSD, complex trauma, and related dissociative disorders. Our clients may come from diverse backgrounds and present varied needs, requiring a sensitive and tailored approach to care. Your expertise will be essential in helping them understand and navigate their experiences, promoting healing and empowerment.

Qualifications\n

To thrive in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

• A completed Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• An active license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in Pennsylvania.

• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling, with a focus on trauma-informed care.
\n
• Extensive knowledge of trauma-related disorders and evidence-based treatment practices.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, characterized by a compassionate and non-judgmental approach to patient interactions.

• Ability to perform effectively under pressure and adapt to the needs of clients in crisis.

• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and related software.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

While not mandatory, candidates with specialized training in trauma-focused therapies, including EMDR, TF-CBT, or similar methodologies, will find this role particularly rewarding. Experience working with diverse populations or in outpatient settings is also highly valued.
