Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients to understand their physical conditions and symptoms.
• Diagnose movement dysfunctions and collaborate with patients to develop individualized treatment plans targeted at their specific goals.
• Instruct patients on the correct use of therapeutic exercise techniques to promote physical healing and stability.
• Employ hands-on techniques such as massage and stimulation to facilitate recovery.
• Assist patients with mobility aids, including wheelchairs and walkers, ensuring their comfort and safety.
• Maintain meticulous records of patient progress, setting benchmarks and adjusting treatment plans as required.
• Educate patients and their families about ongoing treatment options and exercises to be done at home.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Physical Therapist at Happy Body Therapy, you will work with a diverse population that includes children, adults, and the elderly, each facing unique rehabilitative challenges. Your role will involve addressing a spectrum of conditions, including post-operative rehabilitation, chronic pain management, and mobility impairments due to various diagnoses. You will focus on helping patients regain functional independence and improve their quality of life through tailored therapy approaches.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent degree.
• Current, valid license to practice physical therapy in the state of Virginia.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with patients and their families.
• Proficient computer skills, including experience with health record systems and documentation.
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of diverse patient populations.

Preferred Experience

A minimum of 2 years of direct experience in a physical therapy role is preferred, providing insights into treatment methodologies, patient interaction, and management of therapy programs. Familiarity with home care settings is a plus, as this role demands understanding the unique challenges of delivering care in a non-clinical environment.
