Work Environment

This position is based onsite at our state-of-the-art outpatient center located in Alexandria, Virginia, with a focus on home care services for patients requiring assistance in their everyday environments. You will collaborate daily with a small team consisting of two other physical therapists and a physical therapy assistant (PTA), fostering an atmosphere of teamwork and open communication. Our center is equipped with advanced therapy tools and technologies, including EMR software (WebPT), enabling you to streamline your patient management tasks while focusing on delivering exceptional care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments to identify individual goals and needs, tailoring treatment plans accordingly.
• Manage a caseload of one patient per hour, ensuring dedicated and focused care during each session.
• Utilize specialized techniques, such as manual therapy and therapeutic exercise, to enhance patients' range of motion and mobility.
• Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans, incorporating various modalities and exercises that are customized to each patient.
• Educate patients on alternative therapies to medications and surgical interventions, promoting proactive health management strategies.
• Document all patient interactions and care provided, maintaining accurate records to track progress and outcomes.
• Motivate and support patients throughout their rehabilitation journey, celebrating milestones in their physical recovery.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including physicians and occupational therapists, to optimize comprehensive patient care.
• Regularly evaluate treatment efficacy and adapt care strategies based on ongoing assessments and patient feedback.
• Encourage a healthy lifestyle that focuses on enhancing strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work primarily with adult patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports-related injuries, and chronic pain conditions. Our diverse patient population ranges from active individuals to older adults seeking to regain functional mobility. Each treatment plan is meticulously tailored to address the unique needs of our patients, promoting recovery and enhancing their overall quality of life.

Qualifications

• Possess a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) and hold a valid state license to practice as a Physical Therapist in Virginia.
• Demonstrated commitment to professional development and maintaining a pristine professional record, free from disciplinary actions.
• Strong proficiency in manual therapy and a solid understanding of orthopedic rehabilitation protocols.
• Exceptional ability to design and implement individualized exercise programs tailored to patient needs.
• Experience working with EMR software, especially WebPT, is preferred for efficient documentation and record-keeping.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in an orthopedic outpatient setting is highly advantageous.
• Hands-on expertise in assessing and treating sports injuries.
• Experience in creating wellness programs focusing on injury prevention and lifestyle modifications.

Compensation and Benefits
