Work Environment

This role is based onsite as you will be delivering treatment in clients' homes throughout Elizabeth, NJ. As part of a highly collaborative interdisciplinary team, you'll organize your daily schedule to visit clients in their personal environments, thus allowing for more personalized care. Key Responsibilities

• Direct and manage physical therapy treatment to prevent disabilities, relieve pain, and restore muscle function, ensuring that all interventions adhere to personalized care plans.
• Lead and supervise Physical Therapy Assistants to ensure the effective implementation of therapy protocols while providing support and direction as needed.
• Conduct thorough evaluations of clients, including diagnostic assessments of muscle, nerve, joint function, and practical abilities, and utilize these results to create targeted treatment plans.
• Assess home environments and recommend necessary modifications or supportive devices to facilitate client independence.
• Deliver prescribed physical therapy services in a home setting, including exercises, manual therapy, and the application of physical agents such as traction and massage.
• Evaluate, fit, and adjust any prosthetic and orthotic devices, providing recommendations for adjustments to the prescribing physician.
• Maintain detailed clinical records, including evaluations, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Participate actively in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss client care strategies, progress, and updates while providing input for ongoing treatment adjustments.
• Instruct clients and their families on proper care and use of physical therapy devices, ensuring they understand their physical therapy programs.
• Respond promptly to feedback and document any changes in client conditions and therapy responses, adjusting care plans accordingly.
• Provide mentorship to Physical Therapy Assistants as required by state law, ensuring compliance with professional standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, you will primarily work with clients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, injuries, and chronic conditions impacting mobility. Your approach will be evidence-based and tailored to individual client needs, allowing you to create engaging and effective therapeutic experiences that lead to improved mobility and overall health.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program.
• State licensing as a Physical Therapist by the New Jersey Physical Therapy Examining Committee.
• A minimum of two years of experience in a clinical setting, particularly focusing on orthopedic cases.
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.

Preferred Experience

While two years of experience is required, candidates with experience in home health care and those who have worked closely with interdisciplinary teams are preferred. Familiarity with OASIS (Outcome and Assessment Information Set) documentation is a plus as it enhances our reporting and patient care processes.

Compensation and Benefits

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary ranging from $100,000 to $120,000 annually, commensurate with experience. In addition, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including:
