Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough preliminary interviews with clients, diligently documenting their mental, behavioral, and emotional health statuses from the initial assessment through to the conclusion of treatment.

• Develop tailored intervention and recovery plans that address the unique needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups, employing proven therapeutic methods in line with best practices.

• Facilitate dynamic individual and group therapy sessions, employing a range of techniques to engage clients and promote active participation in their healing processes.

• Continuously monitor and assess client progress to ensure the effectiveness of treatment plans, making adjustments as indicated to optimize outcomes.
\n
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including other mental health professionals, doctors, and social workers, ensuring comprehensive care through shared goals and effective communication.

• Follow up on care needs for clients admitted to hospitals, maintaining strong lines of communication with psychiatrists and attending physicians to facilitate seamless transitions in care.

• Identify any behaviors or conditions that may hinder recovery, implementing preventive measures to support clients in achieving their therapeutic goals.

• Provide guidance and support to family members and primary caregivers grappling with the mental health challenges of loved ones, fostering a community of understanding and shared resources.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The ideal candidate will work with a diverse clientele, including children, adolescents, and adults facing various mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship challenges. Our approach emphasizes cultural competency, recognizing the unique backgrounds of our clients and tailoring interventions to reflect their individual lived experiences.

Qualifications\n

• Must hold a Master’s or Doctoral Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a Mental Health Counselor in the state of New York (LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, LCSW-R).

• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Demonstrated experience in delivering mental health counseling services is essential.

• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, to effectively track client progress and documentation.

• In-depth knowledge of various mental health conditions, including substance use disorders, and an understanding of the pharmacological impacts of prescriptions.

• Strong proficiency in written and verbal communication, with an emphasis on empathy and active listening.

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior experience working in a community health setting or with diverse populations is preferred.

• Knowledge of the best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) is highly regarded.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The salary range for this position is competitive, offering between USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, with performance-based incentives and a sign-on bonus available to selected candidates.
