Work Environment

Your work will be carried out in a dynamic outpatient office located in the vibrant city of Fort Lauderdale. You will collaborate closely with a diverse team of healthcare providers, including physical therapist assistants and other rehabilitation specialists. Key Responsibilities

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, your day-to-day activities will include:

• Designing and implementing individualized treatment plans aimed at preventing disabilities and maximizing your clients' functional capabilities.
• Evaluating patients' physical function using comprehensive assessments, including tests of muscle strength, joint mobility, and movement coordination.
• Collaborating with physical therapy assistants to ensure precise execution of treatment protocols, overseeing their work as necessary.
• Administering therapeutic interventions such as manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercise regimens, and modalities including traction and massage.
• Conducting home evaluations to recommend modifications that enhance the living environment's safety and accessibility for rehabilitation.
• Maintaining meticulous patient documentation, including initial evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, to ensure seamless communication with other healthcare professionals.
• Participating in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and refine treatment strategies in a collaborative manner.
• Educating patients and their families on proper use and care of therapeutic equipment and strategies for continued progress at home.
• Staying current with the latest trends and advancements in physical therapy practice to ensure the provision of evidence-based care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on orthopedic patients, including individuals recovering from surgeries, injuries, and chronic conditions affecting their musculoskeletal systems. You will work with a diverse age group, from young athletes to elderly patients, each requiring tailored approaches to rehabilitation that fit their unique needs.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must have:

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) and a valid state license to practice as a Physical Therapist in Florida.
• Exceptional skills in clinical assessment, communication, and documentation.
• A strong commitment to providing exceptional patient care and continuous personal professional development.
• Basic proficiency in technology and electronic medical record (EMR) systems.

Preferred Experience

While we welcome new graduates, those with at least two years of relevant experience in outpatient orthopedic settings will be at an advantage. Experience with teletherapy and innovative rehabilitation techniques is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits
