The Yuba Health Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Mental Health Specialist to join our team on a full-time basis. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments that incorporate an understanding of any co-occurring medical conditions affecting mental health.
• Develop personalized treatment plans that integrate both psychiatric and medical perspectives to enhance patient outcomes.
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions informed by evidence-based practices, adjusting interventions based on patient needs.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary medical teams to ensure continued patient care and optimal treatment coordination.
• Provide immediate crisis intervention and support during mental health emergencies, employing strategies to de-escalate situations.
• Educate patients about the interconnection between mental and physical health, offering them tools to manage their conditions independently.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation for all patient interactions in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to case conferences, bringing insights and collaborative solutions to patient care challenges.
• Stay informed of current research and best practices in integrated care to continuously improve service delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of the Yuba Health Counseling Center is to serve individuals experiencing complex mental health needs, especially those with co-occurring medical conditions. Our ideal candidate will exhibit sensitivity to the varied backgrounds of patients, including those coping with autoimmune disorders, chronic pain, and substance use issues. Your expertise in recognizing these intersections will be crucial in fostering trust and delivering effective care.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• A current and valid license in Washington State as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Psychologist.
• Demonstrated experience providing mental health services, particularly for individuals with co-occurring medical conditions.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills that foster positive patient and team interactions.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries while adhering to ethical standards and ensuring confidentiality.
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and telehealth platforms.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in an integrated care or telehealth setting is highly advantageous.
• Experience providing group therapy and facilitating support groups.
• Knowledge of culturally sensitive approaches in mental health treatment.

Compensation and Benefits
