You will have access to electronic health record systems, including AVATAR, enabling efficient documentation and case management.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct initial assessments and preliminary interviews, documenting mental health evaluations meticulously from the initial consultation through to the end of treatment.

• Evaluate clients’ mental, behavioral, and emotional health to understand their needs thoroughly.
\n
• Develop and implement personalized intervention and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups, utilizing evidence-based practices.
\n
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, fostering a supportive environment that encourages open dialogue.
\n
• Monitor client progress and adapt treatment plans as necessary to ensure effective outcomes.
\n
• Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and social workers, to develop cohesive intervention plans.
\n
• Follow up with psychiatrists and attending physicians for clients admitted to hospitals to ensure continuity of care.
\n
• Identify and proactively address any behaviors that may impede recovery, supporting clients in overcoming challenges.
\n
• Assist family members and primary caregivers in managing mental health and behavioral challenges, equipping them with the necessary tools and resources.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Medina Counseling Center, you will work with a diverse client population, including those facing various mental health issues, relationship dynamics, trauma, addiction, and emotional distress. Your compassionate approach will be key to building trust with clients, many of whom seek guidance and support in challenging times.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Arizona.
\n
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts in an understandable manner.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, characterized by an empathetic nature and a commitment to client-centered care.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of two years' experience working as a mental health counselor, with a record of effective client outcomes.

• Proficiency with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, to enhance documentation efficiency and accuracy.

• Experience and familiarity with the best practices set forth by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
\n
• A nuanced understanding of the impact of physical health conditions and substance abuse on mental health.

• Knowledge of pharmacological treatments prescribed by medical specialists and their effects on mental health.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The annual salary for this position ranges from $80,000 to $100,000, reflecting the experience and qualifications of the candidate.
