Work Environment\n

This position allows for remote work, combining the flexibility of teletherapy with the camaraderie of a supportive clinical team. You will maintain regular business hours from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM, ensuring access to therapy for clients while balancing personal and professional commitments. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive intake assessments to gauge clients’ eating disorder symptoms, psychological profile, and overall treatment needs, using standardized assessment tools.

• Develop customized, evidence-based treatment plans collaboratively with clients, establishing realistic and measurable goals for their recovery journey.

• Provide individual and group therapy utilizing proven methodologies like Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to address disordered eating behaviors.

• Facilitate therapeutic sessions aimed at challenging and reconstructing distorted beliefs around body image, food, and self-worth, promoting adaptive coping strategies.

• Support clients in building emotional regulation skills and developing healthy coping mechanisms to combat fleeting urges tied to disordered eating behaviors.
\n
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary treatment team to ensure integrated care, addressing both psychological and physical needs of clients.

• Provide psychoeducational support to both clients and their families, enhancing understanding of eating disorders and fostering a nurturing recovery environment at home.

• Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions, treatment progress, and compliance with ethical and legal standards in a timely manner.

• Engage in continuous professional development through team meetings, case discussions, and workshops, contributing to the collective knowledge base in the treatment of eating disorders.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will primarily work with individuals facing an array of eating disorders, many of whom may also experience co-occurring mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, and trauma. Your role will be pivotal in helping them find clarity and reclaim their lives by promoting healthier relationships with food and self-image.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current, valid licensure as an LCSW, LMFT, or LMHC in the state of New York, demonstrating your capability and commitment to mental health care.

• Solid understanding and practical experience with evidence-based therapies, particularly in the treatment of eating disorders through CBT, DBT, and ACT.

• A strong foundation in recognizing the multifaceted nature of eating disorders and accompanying mental health challenges.

• Exceptional communication skills with a proven ability to build rapport and trust with a diverse range of clients.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of two years of professional experience providing therapy in a mental health setting, particularly in eating disorder treatment and emotional wellness.
