Job Description

Neverland Worldwide is conducting a confidential search on behalf of a large national retail services organization for a Vice President of Field Operations.

This is a senior, hands-on leadership role responsible for a large, distributed field organization executing complex retail projects nationwide. The position will oversee programs including new store sets, store remodels, complex resets, store mapping, and other operational and technology-enabled initiatives.

\n

The ideal candidate is an experienced retail services executive who can operate effectively at both the strategic and field level—building strong teams, improving operational performance, strengthening client relationships, and ensuring consistent execution across a national organization.

What You’ll Lead

\n

\n
• Provide leadership and direction to a large nationwide field operations organization, including managers, project leadership, and hourly field teams.
\n
• Oversee execution of complex retail programs including new store openings, remodels, resets, and other large-scale field initiatives.
\n
• Develop training and development programs that improve consistency, productivity, quality, and execution across field teams.
\n
• Monitor operational KPIs and project performance, identifying opportunities and implementing solutions to improve results.
\n
• Maintain strong relationships with clients and strategic labor partners.
\n
• Participate in client meetings, operational reviews, onsite training, and project visits.
\n
• Lead internal operating meetings and establish clear communication and accountability across the organization.
\n
• Partner with executive leadership on operational strategy, budgeting, profitability, and long-term organizational goals.
\n
• Work closely with Human Resources on employee relations, policies, performance management, and field leadership practices.
\n
• Evaluate market and industry trends, competitive activity, operational costs, and performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.

What We’re Looking For

\n

\n
• 10+ years of significant leadership experience within retail services, retail field operations, merchandising, or a closely related industry.
\n
• Previous experience in a senior operations leadership role such as Vice President, Senior Director, or comparable position.
\n
• Strong understanding of large-scale field workforce management and complex project execution.
\n
• Established relationships within the retail, CPG, DSD, or related industries.
\n
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
\n
• Excellent presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.
\n
• Demonstrated ability to build, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
\n
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to make decisions and operate independently.
\n
• Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or a related field preferred.
\n

Position Details

Location: Remote-based

\n

Travel: Approximately 50%, including regular visits to project locations and field teams

\n
