Director of Product Management Partner Experiences

Role Description

The Director of Product Management for Partner Ecosystem & Integrations is the single-threaded owner responsible for the strategy, technical roadmap, and end-to-end integration of third-party (3P) partner devices into the Vivint Home ecosystem. Operating as a high-impact, independent strategic leader, you will expand the boundary of the smart home by enabling external hardware—such as smart lighting, advanced climate controls, multi-vendor sensors, and entertainment platforms—to work seamlessly alongside Vivint’s proprietary hardware suite.

This is an individual contributor role requiring a highly technical product leader who can operate autonomously without a direct team of direct reports. You will specialize in developing deep technical relationships with engineering and product teams at world-class technology companies, leveraging their specialized expertise to accelerate Vivint’s ecosystem growth. You will bridge the gap between external APIs/protocols and internal architecture to deliver zero-friction, deeply integrated consumer experiences at scale.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of product management experience, with at least 4+ years explicitly focused on building developer platforms, partner API ecosystems, IoT integrations, or connected smart home environments.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex, technical product integrations with tier-1 consumer electronics or software enterprise partners.
• Proven success driving large-scale, multi-phase technical hardware or software launches across highly distributed, multi-disciplinary organizations.
• B.S. or M.S. in a Technical Field (Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related discipline); equivalent practical engineering experience considered.

Requirements

• Proven track record of operating with complete strategic independence.
• Deep technical understanding of cloud-to-cloud integrations, local wireless mesh topologies (Zigbee, Z-Wave, Thread), device driver layers, and platform-level SDK development.
• Exceptional systems-thinking capability with a focus on creating frictionless user experiences when combining hardware and software assets from completely distinct corporate entities.
• Superb written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to command technical discussions with external executives and synthesize complex partnership logistics into clear execution milestones for internal leadership.

Benefits

• The base salary range for this position is: $177,520 - $292,920.
• Actual salaries will vary based on several factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
