Assistant/Associate/Professor of Burn Trauma Surgery The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) invites applications for this faculty position at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine [R0143264]. The successful candidate will be an Acute Care Surgeon joining the University Medical Center (UMC) Level 1 trauma center and ABA‑verified burn center. Role of the Position

  • Provide surgical care for burn and trauma patients at the UMC Lions Burn Care Center, a 16‑bed, multidisciplinary facility serving Nevada, northern Arizona, eastern California, and western Utah.
  • Participate in inpatient and outpatient burn care, complex wound management, and dermatologic conditions.
  • Engage in clinical teaching, research, outreach, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with resident and fellow programs in General Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Surgical Critical Care, and Acute Care Surgery.
Minimum Qualifications Completion of an ACGME or AOA residency in General Surgery or Plastic Surgery. Board certification by the American Board of Surgery, American Board of Plastic Surgery, or equivalent. Burn fellowship training preferred. At least three years of academic attending experience. Current ABLS or ABLS‑in‑training instructor certification. Knowledge of burn team physician roles, section policies, protocols, and guidelines. Credentials must be obtained before the start date.
