Key Responsibilities

• Direct and implement physical therapy treatment plans aimed at preventing disability, alleviating pain, and enhancing muscle function, ensuring that patients achieve their maximum potential.
• Evaluate patients using diagnostic techniques to assess muscle, nerve, and joint functions while customizing treatment plans tailored to individual needs.
• Collaborate with physical therapy assistants and oversee their implementation of care plans, ensuring adherence to best practices.
• Analyze logistics in patients' home environments to recommend adaptations that promote independence and facilitate effective rehabilitation.
• Administer various manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercises, and modalities that may include traction and massage, keeping patient safety and comfort as priorities.
• Monitor and document changes in patient conditions, making timely suggestions to the interdisciplinary team for adjustments in care strategies.
• Prepare comprehensive clinical documentation, including initial evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, to ensure accurate patient records are maintained.
• Confer regularly with other healthcare professionals and family members to discuss patient progress and adjust treatment goals as necessary.
• Educate patients and their families on the effective use of therapeutic devices and their individual physical therapy programs, empowering them in their own recovery processes.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.
• Current state licensure as a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) in Florida.

Preferred Experience
