Staff Accountant

This role is eligible for a $1,500 sign-on bonus, paid as follows: $250 after successful completion of 30 days of employment $450 after successful completion of 90 days of employment $800 after successful completion of 6 months of employment Sign-on bonus payments are subject to applicable taxes and withholdings. Employees must be actively employed and in good standing at the time each payment is issued. Job Purpose & Duties You will play an essential role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the financial health of the organization. The ideal candidate will: Prepare and analyze financial and statistical reports for leadership, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders, highlighting program performance, internal controls, and opportunities for improvement. Support continuous enhancement of accounting systems and drive efficiency through clear financial communication across the organization. Participate in contract and payment negotiations with external parties. Review and approve financial transactions; support budgeting processes; and monitor construction payments, bond status, cash balances, and investments. Maintain detailed financial records and assist with regulatory reporting, including tax filings and Medicaid reports. Provide financial data and analysis to inform leadership decisions and assist in audit preparation and coordination with external auditors. Collaborate with the CFO and IT team to improve systems integration and financial reporting tools. Perform related duties and contribute to committees as assigned. Education & Experience Minimum of three years accounting experience with a bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university. CPA desired. Experience working with government programs and the various reporting requirements associated with those contractual relationships. Knowledge of regulations (i.e., Medicaid, HUD, insurance, etc.). Senior living in particular Life Lease and Assisted Living experience accounting desired.
