Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

As a Home Health Physical Therapist, you will:

• Direct and administer physical therapy treatments that focus on preventing disability, alleviating pain, enhancing muscle function, and maximizing client performance based on individualized care plans.
• Evaluate clients' functional abilities through comprehensive diagnostic assessments of muscular, neural, and joint capabilities.
• Develop and adjust care plans accordingly while communicating effectively with clients, their families, and healthcare teams.
• Conduct home evaluations to recommend modifications that will enhance clients' independence and quality of life.
• Provide therapeutic exercises, supervise the implementation of treatment protocols, and support clients in achieving their recovery goals.
• Identify and fit assistive devices such as prosthetics and orthotics, ensuring they meet clients' needs and enhancing both mobility and comfort.
• Maintain thorough clinical records, including initial evaluations and progress documentation, in compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Participate actively in interdisciplinary team meetings, contributing your expertise and insights to comprehensive patient care planning and evaluation.
• Instruct clients and families on care techniques, ensuring they understand and can participate actively in the rehabilitation process.
• Deliver guidance and mentorship to Physical Therapy Assistants, ensuring all procedures align with state law and best practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily serve a diverse patient population in the Winchester area, providing care to those recovering from surgery, managing chronic conditions, or requiring rehabilitative support following illness or injury. Your approach will be holistic, focusing on not just physical recovery but also emotional and psychological support for both clients and their families.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.
• Active and valid PT licensure in Virginia.
• Current CPR certification.
• A valid driver's license with automobile insurance.
• A proven track record of clinical excellence, creativity in problem-solving, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team.
• Strong communication skills to foster effective relationships with clients, families, and colleagues.

Preferred Experience

We are looking for candidates with at least two years of experience in a physical therapy role, particularly in home health or acute care settings. Compensation and Benefits
