About the Opportunity

Cyperus Group is partnering with a well-respected nonprofit organization seeking an Accounting Associate, Accounts Payable to join its finance team. This role is ideal for an organized and detail-oriented professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and contributing to an organization with a meaningful mission.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate accounts payable records, files, and supporting documentation.
• Assist with vendor and independent contractor setup, including W-9 management and classification.
• Support the preparation of annual 1099 and 1096 filings.
• Process accounts payable transactions, including voucher review, check preparation, and payment processing.
• Verify compliance with financial policies and procedures.
• Research and resolve vendor inquiries, discrepancies, and payment issues.
• Prepare documentation for alternative payment methods, including cashier's checks and bank drafts.
• Assist with reporting and other accounting-related projects as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2 years of Accounts Payable experience.
• Basic accounting knowledge and understanding of AP processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
