12-Month School Secretary
Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- Post high school training in secretarial procedures preferred, but not required
- Good typing and data entry skills
- Operational knowledge of computer hardware and software
- Excellent communication and personnel skills
Reports To: Building principal or designee
Job Goals: Employee performs a variety of responsible and complex clerical procedures requiring independent judgment and action in accordance with school policies and practices.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Distributes all incoming mail.
- Answers school phones. Takes messages for school principal, teachers and staff. Insures that individuals receive their messages in a timely fashion.
- Makes announcements on building intercom as directed.
- Maintains student enrollment information, attendance registers, and prepares information.
- Maintains student Honor Roll.
- Prepares and distributes emergency calling list.
- Maintains petty cash account.
- Types all correspondence from building principal, including teachers observations, discipline (bus and school) and newsletter.
- Maintains records on student lunch information.
- Maintains teacher attendance records.
- Prepares end-of-year student awards.
- Prepares student placement information.
- Assists substitutes.
- Performs other office related tasks as assigned by the building principal.
Terms of Employment: 12-Month Year
Evaluation: Annually by the Building Principal and Board of Education
Salary: $56,173-$68,109
